Lea Salonga and Bayan Ko

Looking back over Cory Aquino's funeral, perhaps the most memorable performance was Lea Salonga's rendition of Bayan Ko. Suddenly, the patriotic song I love the most, the one that inspired my nom de plume, has gone from being a sentimental relic of EDSA to an instant hit. Lea's voice is so clear and true that it never fails to send shivers down my spine, and to hear her sing Bayan Ko... EPIC.

This song is so beautiful... sad yet stirring at the same time. You can feel how much the songwriter loved his/her country.
